Steffens victorious at Heart of Oklahoma Speedway
Missouri's own Kyle Steffens did his best to conquer the Sooner State during the recent weekend, and conquer he nearly achieved, eventually capping his trip to Heart of Oklahoma Speedway in Shawnee, Oklahoma, with multiple micro sprint victories, one of which during the final night of competition.
Steffens, a regular fixture in "big car" divisions such as UMP Modifieds and Super Late Models, earned his Oklahoma victories - each of them - in the Sportsman class, winning from the outside front row on Friday before conquering from the pole on Saturday. The event, featuring 13 micro sprint divisions, attracted aces of all ages from all across the country, each vying for a Russell Haslam Memorial crown. Like many other competitors, Steffens entered more than one division, highlighting other starts with back-to-back top-tens in the 500 Winged Open Outlaw class on Friday and Saturday (he finished third and sixth, respectively).
